All our projects aim to support students' goals, whether through encouraging English learning, providing opportunities to engage in STEM, or motivating them to study and fulfill their own dreams.
Project STEAMbot
Our organization created Project STEAMBOT, an online free Udemy course using a simple LEGO® BOOST Robotics Kit. The LEGO® BOOST kit is a LEGO® set which provides introductory exposure to key concepts in robotics, including building and programming. This youth-led program aims to provide an exposure and interest in STEM subjects to students whose circumstances may not otherwise allow them to do so. The course has 950+ enrolled students across over 90 countries. Chapters also teach the course in-person at underserved areas.
Annual English Language Competition
A solid understanding of communication in the English language is essential to achieving most high-paying jobs, particularly in Indian society. We host our Annual English Language Competition for students in rural Himalayan communities to encourage them to improve their English skills so that they can take advantage of the many opportunities these skills will provide them.
Top 10 State Exam Reward
We provide financial rewards for students and their teachers from underprivileged schools in Himalayan villages placing highly in the state exams. If students place in the top 10 of India's state exams, their chances of getting into an excellent college greatly improve. After 20 years having passed without a single student from the village in the top 10, at least one student from a government school of the area has placed highly every applicable year since 2017, when the project first started.
COVID-19 Relief
A COVID-19 outbreak in a rural Himalayan village with limited medical facilities could be fatal to the well-being of its entire population. We raised funds to provide the local hospital with 10 oxygen concentrators and masks to be distributed to combat the risk of infection and help Himachal breathe through COVID-19.
Guiding Star
The Guiding Star project is a way for the Village of Dreams to support students through Guiding Stars, who sponsor children’s education financially, provide them guidance and encouragement, and act as role models that they can emulate.
